Concept/Theme

I just wanted to send a very special “thank you” to Elizabeth for her hours and hours of hard work, attention to detail, pain and perseverance ... and accomplishment on Sempra’s behalf! Also thank you to Parallax for having the wisdom to make her the cornerstone (maybe “inside linebacker” is a better term!) of our team these past two years. It has been a pleasure to work with someone who is focused and driven yet still warm and personable. A very rare (and valuable) combination!
— Erin M. Koch, Corporate Responsibility & Communications Manager, Sempra Energy

Sempra Energy looked to thinkPARALLAX to reshape the their corporate responsibility, and for two years I worked as the Senior Project Manager, leading the team of designers and working closely with the client to pitch concepts, organize content and make sure that client and audience needs were met.

Sempra Energy was in search of a better way to relate to and peak the interest of its employees and stakeholders, as well as reach multiple audiences through a variety of media. Although the content was prepared by the client, our goal was to turn that into an authentic report that felt personal, trustworthy and transparent. Working closely with thinkPARALLAX's creative director, I brainstormed and presented ideas for an overall theme and strategy that would engage the reader and connect them with the content without being overwhelmed.

We opened each section with a “Success, Challenges and Highlights” call out, and shared an employee story that connected to the section topic. We recommended a clean and organized icon system to clearly define each section and combined employee photos with infrastructure projects to create the unique perspective of how each position connects to and impacts a project. To reach audiences through an array of media, we produced the report in print, on a Sempra.com microsite and in an interactive animated flipbook publication.
